The warranty clause commercial buyers miss

A 10-year warranty on the box is a household promise. SureGuard's warranty page is clear about this: for non-household purchases, the warranty is reduced from 10 years to 2 years. A hotel, a dorm, a senior living community and, in most cases, a short-term rental are not households.

The same page lists conditions that matter more in a laundry operation than at home. A claim form is due within 5 days of the incident. The care instructions call for low-heat tumble drying and no bleach, and not following them can void the warranty. The warranty covers the protector only, not the mattress.

None of that makes SureGuard a bad product. It makes it a household product. Before you buy any encasement for a property, ask the seller three questions in writing: what is the warranty term for commercial use, what laundering does the warranty allow, and how long do you have to file a claim.
