How the layers work together

The encasement goes on the mattress first. It is the bed bug and allergen barrier, sealed at the zipper end by the patented BugStop® Seal. The pad goes on top. It is the part housekeeping strips and launders, so most spills and accidents never reach the encasement. The fitted sheet goes over the pad. The pillow protectors zip around each pillow under the pillowcase.

Keeping the two jobs separate is the point. The pad takes the daily laundering; the encasement stays sealed on the mattress and only needs washing occasionally.

BedBug Solution® Elite Mattress Encasement

• Patented BugStop® Seal (U.S. Patent No. 8,413,276): closes the gap at the end of the zipper track, the weak point on most encasements.
• Bed bug barrier tested by Snell Scientifics, LLC: fabric feed-through tests (2008, 2011) and closure tests including the BugStop® Seal design (2010). Reports on our lab page.
• Waterproof and breathable on all six sides: OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified stretch knit laminated to a polyurethane membrane. Meets ASTM F1670-08 for synthetic blood penetration.
• No PFAS detected: SGS tested the Elite against a 725-substance PFAS panel (report SHAHL26025130901).
• Flammability: 16 CFR 1632 Class A (SGS, 2026).

3-Ply Quilted Waterproof Mattress Pad

• Construction: polyester felt top and bottom with a quiet vinyl waterproof core, electronically quilted with whipstitched edges so the layers do not separate or bunch in commercial laundry.
• Feel: the guest lies on felt, not plastic, and the vinyl does not crinkle under a sheet.
• Fitted style: a 16" stretch knit skirt goes all the way around the mattress and stays put on deep mattresses.
• California AB 1817: total organic fluorine not detected at a 20 mg/kg detection limit, a pass (SGS report SHAHL26025131201, August 2026).

CleanAir® Zippered Pillow Protector

• Waterproof, breathable barrier: satin-soft polyester stretch knit laminated to a waterproof urethane membrane. Meets ASTM F1670-08 for synthetic blood and fluid penetration.
• Quiet under a pillowcase: the knit does not crinkle.
• Full-zip closure with a self-locking zipper.
• Size: Standard 21" x 27". For queen or king pillows, buy the CleanAir® protector in that size separately.

Choosing your sizes

Pick the encasement size and depth for your mattress: measure the height at its deepest point, including any pillow top. Then pick the pad in the same mattress size. The pad and encasement are chosen separately, so check that both match your bed before you add to cart.

Care

• Mattress encasement: machine wash and tumble dry. Built for repeated commercial laundering.
• Mattress pad: machine wash warm with a standard commercial detergent, tumble dry medium. Do not use bleach; it breaks down the vinyl core over time.
• CleanAir® pillow protectors: machine wash hot up to 140°F (60°C), tumble dry medium. Do not use chlorine bleach.
