Why odd sizes exist
Standard catalog stock is imported and warehoused in Willsboro, New York, which is what makes same-day shipping possible. Domestic manufacturing runs alongside it, for custom specifications and for orders carrying a domestic-source requirement such as a Trade Agreements Act, Buy American or Berry Amendment clause.
That second line is why an unusual size is a conversation here rather than a minimum order quantity. Hospital Twin 36 x 80, Semi-Truck "Size A", Duty Bunk, marine berths and hotel-specific depths all exist because someone asked and the capability was in the building.
