Bed bug barrier: Snell Scientifics
Bargoose's patented BugStop® Seal has been independently tested by Snell Scientifics, LLC, an independent entomological testing laboratory, verifying that the BedBug Solution® encasement line provides a bite proof, entry proof and exit proof barrier against bed bugs. PFAS: SGS, August 2026
The BedBug Solution® Elite Zippered Mattress Encasement was tested by SGS against a 725 substance PFAS panel referencing EN 17681-1:2025. No PFAS were detected in any of the 195 reported analytes. Total organic fluorine under California AB 1817 was also not detected.
The 3-Ply Quilted Waterproof Mattress Pad returned not detected for total organic fluorine under the same standard, and all regulated substances fell below EU POPs and REACH limits.
California's total organic fluorine limit drops from 100 ppm to 50 ppm on January 1, 2027. Both products already satisfy the 2027 threshold. See the full PFAS reports.
Flammability: 16 CFR 1632
The Elite encasement fabric is classified Class A under the 16 CFR 1632.6 ticking classification, the highest classification available under the standard. Flame retardant compliant constructions are available for hospitality and institutional housing. Read the CFR 1632 guide.

Bargoose waterproof constructions meet ASTM F1670-08 for resistance to penetration by synthetic blood, the standard used to qualify barrier materials for fluid exposure in clinical and institutional settings.
