Add to CartFrequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need to wash the encasement before first use?
No, it is not necessary as our fabrics are not treated with any chemicals. Please note that the encasement is intentionally oversized and will shrink to the proper fit after the first wash and dry cycle. Washed bedding cannot be returned unless defective.
2. How often should I wash the cover?
We recommend washing the mattress encasement once or twice a year. Because it is protected by your fitted sheet, it stays clean for a long time. Pillow covers can be washed more frequently.
3. Does the cover need to fit tightly?
No, a slightly loose fit is best. A tight fit can make the mattress feel stiff and put unnecessary stress on the seams and zipper.
4. I use a mattress pad. Should it go over or under the encasement?
For total allergen protection, we recommend placing the encasement directly on the mattress and then putting your mattress pad and fitted sheet on top of the encasement.
How do you put a mattress cover on?
- Remove the blankets and sheets.
- Slide the mattress down towards the foot of the bed and standard up, if you have a footboard slide it to the side and stand it up.
- Position cover on the top side of the mattress and work it about halfway down the mattress.
- Lay the mattress back down and finish pulling the cover-up and zip closed.
- Put on a clean set of sheets and enjoy a great night's rest.
