No, this fitted protector is not waterproof. It is made from breathable 100% organic cotton and is designed to block allergens like dust mites and pet dander, not moisture. For waterproof protection, we recommend pairing it with a waterproof layer beneath or choosing our vinyl options.

Is the organic cotton certified?

The cotton is sourced through a GOTS certified supply chain under Scope Certificate CU846673GOTS-2026-00087084, issued by Control Union Certifications B.V. to GOTS version 7.0 and valid to 26 August 2027. A Scope Certificate covers the certified supply chain rather than the finished cover, so Bargoose does not sell this as GOTS certified goods. Transaction Certificates covering a specific order are available to specifiers on request.

Will this mattress protector fit a deep mattress?

Yes. The fitted style is available in 9", 12", and 16" depths, making it suitable for both standard and deep mattresses, including pillow-tops and memory foam models.

Can I machine wash this cover?

Yes. Machine wash warm, up to 130°F. Do not use chlorine bleach. Tumble dry on medium. Make sure the cover is completely dry before placing it back on the mattress.

Bargoose, the only brand 100% organic coton dust-mites protection that you wash HOT water!

When searching for protection against dust mites I’ve learned many things during my shopping experience and I’ve asked a lot of questions to AI. I knew right at the beginning I didn’t want to sleep eight hours on a plastic PU or TPU layer because it’s a health hazard. Also because I sweat quite a lot hot when I sleep under my down duvet comforter. So a plastic layer was out of question. So I was looking for 100% coton protection. But what I didn’t know is that most anti-dust mites protection found online and even in brick and mortar shops use a plastic layer! I guess it must be really cheaper to manufacture. So finding 100% coton was hard, 100% organic coton was even harder. Then you encounter the problem of care instructions. All the brands that do sell 100% coton and 100% organic coton recommend only COLD water otherwise they fabric will shrink. But that is not what is best for us people who are suffering from dust mites allergies! Doctors strongly recommend to wash HOT water to kill dust bites effectively. Wow I never though it would be that hard to find a product that would meet all my criteria:
1) No Chinese brand (you don’t know what chemicals would end up in your bed)
2) 100% coton or 100% organic coton (ever better)
3) No plastic TPU layer
4) Can resist multiple washing cycles in HOT water

Well after searching everywhere in Canada and USA the ONLY brand that’s check all my criteria is BARGOOSE!

Oh by the way when I emailed them about a mistake on the US custom form (I ordered from Canada) their President Diane Rattner herself answered back. That’s 5-star after sale service!

What is the return policy on a mattress protector? we have a Birch Luxe queen that is 11.5 in height and want to know the correct size to order

For an 11.5" mattress, order the Queen 60" × 80" / 12". Our covers are cut slightly generous to allow for shrinkage after washing, and a little extra room is better than a tight fit, since tension over time can stretch the fabric pores and reduce performance.

On returns: you have 30 days from receipt to exchange for a different size. Contact us and we will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number with instructions. The item must come back unopened in its original packaging — state health regulations prohibit reselling bedding that has been placed on a mattress, even briefly.
