What do hotels use to protect mattresses?

Most properties run a zippered encasement on the mattress and the box spring, with a launderable quilted pad above it. The encasement handles bed bug containment and six-sided fluid protection and stays on the bed for years. The pad takes the daily wear and goes through the laundry on turnover. Pillow protectors are specified the same way, usually 24 to a case.

Are hotel mattress protectors waterproof?

Yes, by different constructions. A laminated stretch knit uses a polyurethane membrane that passes body heat and water vapour while blocking liquid water, so it stays quiet under a guest. Vinyl is a solid sheet: a better barrier with a longer service life under abuse, but it does not breathe. Vinyl belongs in corrections, shelters and heavy incontinence settings rather than a guest room.

Will hotel guests notice a mattress protector?

They notice the wrong one. A cover that crackles, traps heat or shifts under the sheet generates complaints and gets removed by housekeeping, which leaves the mattress unprotected without procurement hearing about it. A laminated stretch knit is silent and stretches to the mattress, so it reads as part of the bed. Order a sample and sleep on it before committing a floor.

How often should hotel mattress protectors be washed?

Pads and pillow protectors go through the laundry on normal turnover. Encasements stay on the mattress and come off only for a deep clean or a remediation. Avoid bleach, which degrades a polyurethane membrane over time, and fabric softener, which leaves a film that reduces breathability. Fits my 12in mattress

Good product 👍 the most important thing for me is that it fits. I don't really like the texture, it feels a bit too plastic for me but it's not like I'm going to lay directly on it. Since it's a protector it's good so liquid won't get to the matress.

It works as expected, it has a zipper and provides protection from dust, dust mites, and bed bugs. It fits my memory foam mattress and doesn't affect the softness of the mattress. I only wish that the flap they put at the end of the zipper would be Velcro rather than just fabric tape with glue, which is almost useless since it will lose adhesiveness and become useless after a couple nights of sleep, might as well not put anything there. That's my only complaint, otherwise a good product.

Not a bad product. Doesn't restrict my mattress. Still flexes with adjustable bed.

My Mattress is Protected

The Bed Bug Proof Zippered Mattress Encasement arrived quickly and was a perfect fit for the mattress I had with it being easy to slide on. So far it has done an excellent job at protecting the mattress from bugs with the seal that you place on top of the zipper having a stronger than expected adhesive ensuring no bugs get in. It was also more silent than the original plastic mattress encasement I had without sacrificing comfort.
