BedBug Solution™ Hybrid: One Encasement for Every Mattress Depth, 9"–12"
Mixed mattress inventories create a procurement problem: fixed-depth encasements mean multiple SKUs, multiple par levels, and housekeeping fitting the wrong cover to the wrong bed. The BedBug Solution™ Hybrid Encasement uses a stretch-to-fit construction that conforms to any mattress or box spring between 9" and 12" deep, so one item number covers the whole floor.
Engineered for Institutional Risk Management
- Six-Sided Bed Bug Encapsulation: The encasement fully surrounds the mattress on all six sides and zips shut, so bed bugs can neither enter a clean mattress nor escape an infested one. Note the distinction from waterproofing below: containment is six-sided, the waterproof barrier is not.
- Patented BugStop® Seal: Featuring U.S. Patent No. 8,413,276. This technical closure eliminates the "zipper gap" common in consumer-grade covers, the single most common failure point in competitive encasements.
- Hybrid Waterproof Zone: A waterproof urethane laminate covers the mattress top and upper sides, the panels that take virtually all real-world fluid exposure, while the base stays breathable stretch knit for airflow. Lighter than a fully laminated encasement, and easier for housekeeping to handle on turnover.
- Same Elite Face Fabric: The Hybrid is built on the same Oeko-Tex Certified stretch knit used in the BedBug Solution™ Elite, laminated to a microscopic polyurethane membrane. The fabric-level test documentation is shared across both lines.

Safety & Compliance Standards
- Fire Safety: Fully compliant with CFR 1632/1633 flame retardancy standards, a non-negotiable requirement for hospitality and institutional housing. CFR 1610 tested.
- Certified Protective Barrier: Meets ASTM F1670-08 for resistance to penetration by synthetic blood, the standard used to qualify barrier materials for fluid exposure.
- Eco-Friendly & Non-Toxic: Built on the same Oeko-Tex certified fabric as the Elite, which returned no detectable PFAS under SGS testing to EN 17681-1:2025, all 195 substances not detected, and no detectable total organic fluorine under California AB 1817. Mattresses under 9" deep are served by the BedBug Solution™ Elite in 6" or 9" fixed-depth sizing. Mattresses over 12" are served by the Deep Hybrid, 12"–16". Sizes beyond the six stocked items above, including California King, are available on request.
Property Management & Procurement FAQ
Should we specify the Hybrid or the Elite?
Both are certified bed bug proof and both use the patented BugStop® Seal. The difference is waterproof coverage and fit. Choose the Hybrid when mattress depths vary across your inventory and you want one item number to fit all of them, and where fluid risk is normal guest use. Choose the Elite when you need the waterproof barrier on the bottom panel as well, which is typical for healthcare, assisted living, incontinence risk, and institutional housing, or when you need Hospital Twin sizing.
How does the Hybrid Encasement improve ROI?
The encasement acts as asset insurance. By preventing fluid damage and pest infestation from ever reaching the mattress core, you remove the most common reasons a commercial mattress is condemned well before the end of its structural life. In the event of a pest remediation, containment keeps a single-room incident from becoming a multi-room event, and the room returns to service faster, minimizing "Room Out of Order" (OOO) revenue loss. Our commercial team can model the replacement-cycle math against your own par counts and turn rate.
Will this impact guest comfort or sleep quality?
No. The stretch-knit fabric is silent, soft to the touch, and allows thermal regulation. The waterproof performance comes from a laminated polyurethane membrane rather than a vinyl sheet, so the membrane passes body heat and perspiration while blocking liquid water. Unlike "plastic" covers, guests will not notice an encasement is present, preserving the premium feel of your bedding package.
How many wash cycles can the Hybrid Encasement withstand?
The Hybrid is built for commercial laundry environments. The polyurethane lamination is bonded to the knit fabric to prevent delamination, and the self-locking BugStop® Seal zipper is specified for repeated institutional laundering. Machine wash, tumble dry. We advise against bleach, which degrades the membrane over time, and against fabric softener, which can leave a film that reduces breathability. The encasement carries our Lifetime Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects. If your laundry contract requires a validated wash-cycle count for the spec sheet, contact us and we will supply the current laundering test documentation for this construction.
What documentation can you provide for an RFP or brand-standard submission?
Bargoose publishes its third-party test documentation openly rather than holding it for request. The Snell Scientifics bed bug evaluation, the ASTM F1670-08 fluid barrier result, and the flammability reports are available at Test Reports & Lab Results. If your submission requires documentation tied to a specific construction, size, and lot, contact the commercial team and we will confirm which current report covers the exact item number you are specifying.
